THOUGHT FOR TODAY ~ Vintage Vinyl

At my daughter's sweet-sixteen party, she received an attractive, fluted black bowl filled with bath products as a gift. Imagine our surprise later, when we removed the fruity shower soaps to discover that the bowl was sculpted an old sixteen inch vinyl record.

WHAT’S BARB READING?

I get asked this question a lot, so I thought, hey, why not share it on my blog occasionally?

I’d also love to hear what you are reading. Though my TBR pile is quiet high, I am always looking for recommendations, so let’s have ‘em!

Here’s what I recently finished:

Query Letters that Rock by Linda Formichelli and Diana Burrell.
I just can’t resist reading books on writing - this one is a good refresher, the highlight being the reprints and analysis of query letters that sold articles.

Sex, Lies, and Vampires by Katie MacAlister.
First, love the title. Second, it’s a really great read! Not your traditional vamp story in a refreshing, intriguing way. Besides, you have to love a book that dares to tackle the topic of why vampires have bladders when everyone knows they don’t pee. Highly recommended!

The Drowning Season by Alice Hoffman.
I’m on a mission to read all of Alice Hoffman’s books and this was the next in line. Truly one of the most gifted authors of our time—her words are magic. The Drowning Season is a modern fable of epic proportions. A true keeper!

Unwrapping Mr. Wright by Michele Dunaway.
This is an oldy but goody from the Harlequin American Romance line. With twin brothers and a feisty female lead, this is a gem of a romance!

Okay, your turn… what’s on your bookshelf this week?
