There’s a great new show for preschoolers premiering this Labor Day.
This Labor Day, preschoolers can step into a world where words truly are the stars of the show. "WordWorld," debuting Sept. 3, 2007 on PBS KIDS® (check local listings) and backed in part by funding from the U.S. Department of Education, encourages 3- to 5-year-olds to engage in wordplay.
"WordWorld" playfully brings words to life through patent-pending methodology that embeds words into the objects they represent. In each episode, children will join WordFriends™ - Dog, Sheep, Frog, Duck, Pig and Ant.
Humor abounds, such as when Frog mistakenly rolls an "S" onto the end of his bed only to dramatically learn about the power of plural words! In these word-building moments, preschoolers acquire key literacy-based skills, from compound words and word families, to rhyming and plurals.
